How to Make Chicken Curry |
If you love spicy curry, this is it! This is a delicious chicken curry that you can cook and enjoy with rice or bread. This is an original Sri Lankan recipe.
Instruction
Things You'll Need:
Chicken cut into cubes (1 ½ pounds) Oil ( 3 tablespoons) Lemon/Lime juice Paprika Powder (1 tablespoon) Pepper (1 tablespoon) Roasted curry powder (1 tea spoon) Chopped garlic (about 3 cloves) Chopped ginger Chopped onions Diced tomato (about one fresh tomato) Cinnamon Stick ( one ) Cloves ( two) Cardomom pods ( three) Water ( 1 cup) Salt (as desired)
Step 1: Cut the chicken into cubes. Then mix in the lime juice, paprika powder, salt, pepper, roasted curry powder, chopped garlic and ginger. Allow the chicken to marinate for 30 minutes – one hour.
Step 2: Heat a pan with oil. Throw in the marinated chicken with the juice and allow it to cook on low heat. As the chicken browns, add in the water and cook on low heat.
Step 3: Add in the chopped onions, diced tomatoes, cardomoms, cloves and cinnamon stick for flavor.
Step 4: Let the curry cook for about 10-15 mins. Add in more water and oil if you desire more gravy.
Relevent Tips You are the best judge of the quantity of ingredients to go into the curry. You can alter the quantity accordingly. If you desire a less spicy curry, reduce the amount of paprika powder. The chicken curry is best with bread or rice. Enjoy!Labels: Chicken Curry |
